IT Security Days

The third edition of IT Security Days is behind us!

Concrete engineering knowledhe in the heart of the Lubusz Voivodeship. On May 14-15, Zielona Góra once again became the regional cybersecurity hub. The third edition of the IT Security Days conference proved that there is a massive demand in the IT industry for events based on substantive content that goes hand in hand with practice. We have just concluded two days filled with knowledge, hands-on workshops on live systems, and networking.

From the very beginning, we were guided by a single goal: to create a space for engineers and administrators where they could openly discuss failures, breaches, and configuration errors. This year’s turnout confirmed once again that the direction we chose is the right one.

Day 1: Data from the front lines

As promised, on the first day, we completely cut the oxygen to sales slides. The stage was taken over by experts who face the most serious incidents in Polish networks on a daily basis.

The speakers included Joanna Jakubowska, Adam Haertle, Mirosław Maj,  płk Jarosław Wacko and dr inż. Łukasz Faber. The lectures focused on the key problems of modern IT:

  • Anatomy of ransomware attacks: Analysis of entry vectors and errors that most often facilitate the attackers’ task.

  • Forensic analysis: How to read logs and look for traces of an intruder when systems remain silent and security measures have been bypassed.

  • Infrastructure maturity and resilience: Shifting the mindset from “will they attack us?” to “how fast will we get back up after a hit?”.

After an intense day, it was time for evening networking. It was there, in a more relaxed atmosphere, that the exchange of experiences between administrators from all over the country took place.

Day 2: Gear on the table - time for practise

On Friday, we stepped down from the strategic level to the tactical one. The second day was marked by technology workshops (in the BYOD – Bring Your Own Device format). The practicants had the oppurtunity to test defense scenarios in practise, working shoulder to shoulder with engineers representing our technology partners.

We configured secure networks, tested the reliabillity of backup systems, and discussed incident management together with experts from Dell Technologies, Xopero Software and Stormshield.

The power of partnership

Organizing an event on such scale, which genuinely raises the level of seurity in the region, would not have been possible without a strong ecosystem of partners and support.

We extent our special thanks to all our strategic partners, event partners, exhibitors, as well as honorary and media patrons.

We also want to that you, the participants – for your trust, attendance and questions. Your engagement is what drives us to act.

Rest up, implement the new knowledge in you organizations, and… see you at the next edition!
