We completed first aid training!

On a daily basis, we protect IT infrastructure from cyberattacks. However, we know that there is something far more valuable than the most expensive servers or complex databases – human life. This week, we celebrated the World Day for Safety and Health at Work by organizing practical rescue workshops for our team.

In the digital world, when a security incident occurs, a quick reaction, knowledge of procedures, and keeping a cool head are crucial. Exactly the same principles apply in real life when another person’s health is at risk. In such situations, there is no room form mistakes or hesistation, as fractions of a second often determine the most severe consequences.

We focus on practice

To ensure that we do not panic in a critical moment, we decided to take action. Just before the May long weekend, we hosted a team from the Rescue Center at our office.

Under the guidance of experts, our team underwent comprehensive training, during which we worked through realistic scenarios. This is knowledge that will be useful not only in the office space but also at home or on the street.

During the workshops, we focused on first aid, learning how to:

  • Properly assess the situation: How to quickly diagnose the problem, manage stress, and effectively help the victim

  • Ensure our own safety: How to secure the scene so that by helping, we do not put ourselves and bystanders in danger.

  • Buy invaluable time: How to properly sustain vital functions and secure the victim until the ambulance arrives.

Computer hardware can always be replaced, reset, or restored from backups. We only have one life, and when someone is in need, good intentions are not enough. You have to know how to act!
